Launch of Foster Care Fortnight in Wales

The launch of Foster Care Fortnight in Wales will be taking place on Monday 12 May from 11am to 12pm at the Welsh Assembly government building in Cardiff. Minister for children, education, lifelong learning and skills, Helen Mary Jones AM, as well as care-experienced young people, foster carers and other Assembly Members will be in attendance. A film made recently in collaboration with the University of Glamorgan will be shown during the event telling the stories of the care experienced young people who are attending.

“ There are many misconceptions about who can foster but foster carers come from many backgrounds and from all walks of life, what matters most is that you have something to offer to children and young people. Being a foster carer won't always be the easiest of jobs, but from speaking to foster carers I know it will certainly be one of the most rewarding things you can ever do!”
